The N.O.W. Matters More Foundation was established in 2011 after the Founder, Lui Delgado, having worked in the industry of addiction treatment since 1990. During this time period he received many calls from individuals and families seeking help, however, they had limited resources, were uninsured, or under insured. Since he was also currently on radio and television as a recovery/treatment advocate and voice, he chose to make use of this opportunity to create an organization that can help those that could not afford quality care, but also made too much of an income to qualify for government assistance. The majority of the calls for help came from our middle class population who still had deductibles and high out of pocket expenses, even when having insurance coverage. Every call important. Every person deserving. Every moment matters. Timing is everything. The foundation was born.
The N.O.W. Matters More Foundation not only provides scholarships, but also champions creative efforts and solutions for prevention, education, and treatment of substance abuse and the disease of addiction.
It unites quality providers with like minded purpose and passion, while also supporting and celebrating those in recovery, from today and yesterday, as well as memorializing those lost along the way.
The N.O.W. Matters More Foundation uses relevant and effective images, discussions, and entertainment via print, Internet, radio, television, film, conference, and personal appearances to promote awareness, discussion, and understanding of our purpose.
N.O.W. is an acronym for Needs Over Wants. It highlights what is important while bringing attention to it’s double meaning and main objective. That is NOW. There is no better moment, because regret of the past and fear of the future can paralyze todays need for action.
The motto always being that NOW MATTERS MORE BECAUSE YOUR TOMORROW DEPENDS ON IT.
